The DIY Community asked for a very high output speaker with a small footprint. We wanted to be sure it could easily be powered by virtually any receiver on the market, yet still handle the power of an external amplifier if needed. I spoke with Eminence and they helped make custom 16 ohm woofers that would give us a very high sensitivity speaker while still maintaining an 8 ohm load for your receiver. Their look and sound is exactly the same as the single 8 ohm Beta-8 woofer used in the standard Fusion-8 Alchemy.
The EOS-8 allowed for a narrow 10" cabinet and close spacing between the woofers and compression driver. A height of 27" gives you a lot of placement options including use behind an acoustically transparent screen. If you can't use 3 of these up front, the Fusion-8 center channel will be a perfect match for this speaker.
The Cinema-8 was designed to perform best when paired with a subwoofer that can handle the lower frequencies.
