The Cube-18 flat pack is made from a highly refined CARB 2 compliant MDF, not like the panels sold in most home improvement stores. The MDF is a heavier weight material that's perfect for large subwoofers. It gives you more rigid panels and the extra weight assures that the enclosure is less likely to 'walk' around on the floor when the subwoofer is playing at high volumes. The cabinet weighs 100 pounds!
The flat pack is cut with an automated CNC router so that every piece fits together perfectly in rabbet joints and dado grooves. This not only makes assembly much easier and more accurate, but also gives you a stronger enclosure because there's more surface area for the glue to bond to.
The Cube-18 is tuned around 19hz with a net volume of 5.4cuft and was originally designed to work very well with the Dayton Audio RS 18" subwoofer and the Stereo Integrity 18" subwoofer. The well thought out slot port design allows you to assemble the entire cabinet quickly and easily with no need for screws or nails.
