  1. Great Speakers review by Roadie on 12/6/2022

This was my very first speaker build and I was a little nervous but everything worked out great. I built these as a Christmas gift for my son. Breaking them in before mailing out to him and they sound better than my towers! The voicing is definitely more clear than what my Polk towers provide. Bass hits deep as well. Can’t wait for my next DIYSG build!

I looked around at many kits before deciding upon these including anthologies, statements and the vortex series. The bass that these anarchy woofers can produce is just astounding and they seem to do it without effort. I've never had a bookshelf speaker hit me in the chest with the pressure that these do, it just blows me away. The wavecor tweeter that is used is no slouch either, it has fantastic clarity and plenty of detail. Pete did a fantastic job designing the crossover for these and I can listen to them for hours at a time easily. I can't recommend this kit enough and everyone who I demo them for is blown away.

  3. Crystal clear beasts review by Drew on 2/20/2021

These speakers are monsters. The clarity that they produce at high SPLs is incredible. And at the same time they reach down easily into the 30s, making it easy to blend with a good subwoofer. Pretty flat frequency response across the range, but I do detect a bit of glare with the high mids/low treble. Not entirely sure it's the speakers, it could be my system, but I've got pretty good balanced components and more than enough power to drive them. In any case, they absolutely POUND and look really good as well. I finished mine in some walnut veneer and they look gorgeous. I see that they've been out of stock for quite a while here at DIYSG, but if they ever show up again, my recommendation is to jump on a pair. If highly detailed clarity and strong bass are your thing, these can't possibly be beaten for the price.

  4. Amazing Speakers for A Strange Mounting Limitation review by lapean111 on 7/27/2020

I have a bar in my home that has some really specific mounting/space limitations. The TV and Stereo speakers are mounted on a wall near where the entry to get behind the bar is. This location requires wall mountable speakers. The space is large, so they need to be beasts to deliver the sound I am looking for.

These things are BEASTS. They dig cleanly into the upper 30s. I was able to lower the crossover to my sub to 50hz, which completely makes the sub unlocatable when listening.

The imaging on these things is unreal. My wife was closing her eyes, and telling me where on the stage each of the instruments were. I am not articulate enough to convey how amazing these things sound, even mounted horizontally, up high.

I moved the ports from the rear to the top/side in order to facilitate the wall mounting.

I highly recommend these great speakers to anyone looking for something musical, muscular, and just beastly.

I bought the pair of MTM Apollo's along with the MT for the center channel. I had a blast building these. I purchased the crossover board that I still assembled and I believe that is the way to go. Anyone with the skills to do the project in the first place could build the crossover with that board and the instructions provided.

The packaging they arrive in is 2nd to none. I am pretty sure they UPS guy could throw them off the truck and it wouldn't hurt them. Excellent job taking the time to pack them so that it's almost impossible to get damaged during the shipping.

I glued, clamped, sanded, primed, painted, etc these until they were exactly what I wanted. Then I assembled the speakers into the boxes. Taking my time on all of it, I still completed all three of them in a little over a week. I was on vacation though so I had some extra time but definitely doable in a couple weeks time.

I also was building the overnight sensations at the same time and I finished them first. I was very impressed with them and when I hooked up the Apollos, I was not disappointed. These things will get uncomfortably loud. I think they actually sound better the louder you crank it. I have not set them up with my TV surround sound setup yet but that is why I bought them. These things will blast and I am very happy I bought them and did this project. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a high powered speaker that will impress.

  6. Articulate and powerful! review by Srowe on 10/10/2018

Have had these running for a few months now and they just seem to get better! I know there will be an age long debate on break in, but the first time I fired them up they sounded pretty good but nowhere near how they sound now. They have smoothed out and and Image like crazy. Low bass is very full and have nice midbass punch. The Anarchy woofers are absolute beasts but have terrific midrange clarity. My wife and daughter even commented how they liked the sound better than the B&W 685s2 that these replaced. Highly recommended!!

I bought a trio of MTMs to replace my Klipsch Heresy IIs and Academy center channel. The Hereseys (Heresies?) were super clear and loud, but lacked any bass, and they were fatiguing to listen to at high volume. I wanted something with better bass performance and a matching center channel.

The kits were very complete, even with specific screws for the tweeters and woofers, though I didn't receive any gasket for the woofers. I used some existing 1/2" gasket material I had on hand. As with the other kits I've bought from DIYSG, the packing material is unmatched. I cut my own baffles, but the ones included were very good.

Listening to music and movies, both were great. Audyssey set up the speakers as full band, so there is obviously some authoritative bass. They sounded great a high (90+ db) volumes with all kinds of music. I have a 15" sub as well, but I could see these working well for casual listening without a sub.

I built three Apollo's for LCR and was worried about the jump from a waveguide (Tempest) and how these would sound in my open and reflective family room. They excel and are on another level of refinement compared to the Tempests (which I love, btw). The bass, tweeter clarity, and imaging are incredible. Audyssey set the crossover at 40hz and that's great, as I can keep my subs off for all tv viewing. Pete nailed it. Highly recommended.
