  1. Fantastic! review by David on 2/5/2024

I had a pair of HT-8 serving LR duties in a 4.2 setup and while I loved their sound they were missing something in the low end. Picked up a pair of HT-10s for LR and moved the eights to SLR for a 4.2 setup. Assembly was a breeze, and I put grills on them.

After running the audyssey app on a denon x3800h and boosting the low end to taste, these babies sing. Of note was I had to adjust for the high end roll off, as these speakers don't need it. The imaging is excellent, better than the eights, and the sound is deeper and detailed. The system sounds better than a movie theater at my preferred volume range, 65-75db. The big downside is that the sound so good I just want to crank the volume.

Music sounds great on them and with a matching set of fronts / surrounds it creates a really immersive sound field. Apple music spatial audio is a real treat. I wanted to get the 12s, but I’m glad I got the 10s, because of the size difference. The 10s are big but not too big, and I think the 12s would have overwhelmed my living room size. Love them!

I built 4 HT-10's for surround and surround backs. Shipping was quick, packaging was top-notch, and building was an absolute blast. These speakers are hard to beat for the price. Sold my Klipsch that they replaced. Ended up with cash in my pocket and bigger sound. There is also a lot of pride in DIY. It's fun to say I built these speakers, but I'm thankful for DIYSG's expertise that has made these kits possible.

These were my first attempt at DIYSG speakers. I bought them as to use as surrounds but I have been using them as LCR while I wait for the 1099's to come back in stock. I have a dedicated 12x24 room and these can fill the room with sound more than I expected. I am running them with an Emotiva BasX A3 and they can get louder than I can comfortably listen. The details are very clear and and to my surprise I have been enjoying listening to music on these more than movies lately. EDM is often my go to and they are well suited for this type of music in my opinion when paired with a good sub. Running them with 2 x 18" Marty Cubes and they integrate very well! They are of course very good for movies as well. Dialog is very clear and they can get loud without distortion. I have yet to push them near their limits. Overall I consider these speakers to be a very good value.

  4. Hoooooly cow - these are fabulous! review by Nick on 5/14/2020

Assembly was VERY straight forward - to glue, clamp sand and assemble each one took about 90 - 120 minutes and was very straight forward for a novice first time speaker builder (assembler?).

As for the important part - how do they sound? I'm using them as a LR pair in a 5.1.2 system. They are crisp and clear with a very wide sweetspot (thank you waveguide). In the 5 days they've been setup we've run through half a dozen movies and in everyone of them we hear things that didn't come through in the previous setup (NHT SuperZeros).

I like 'em so much - looking to put an HT-8 in the center next...

  5. Excellent product review by Jaty on 10/1/2019

Before buying the HT-10, I had a 5.2 setup with 1099s for LCR and volt 6 for surround. I wanted to complete the 7.2 setup and wanted something with more oomph than the volt 6s. I initially wanted to get the volt 10s but my instincts(and curiosity) led me to the ht10.
I am so glad I got them. They are so clear and crisp sounding. They obviously get louder than I can stand for surround duty on my receiver. I am highly impressed. I don't know whether it's the celestion tweeter or seos 12 waveguide but I have noticed the highs are much better than the 1099s. It's hard to test the midbass since they are surrounds so I can't comment on that in comparison to the 1099s(probably not fair anyway)
If anyone is on the line about this, I doubt you would be disappointed if they got them. I could easily put this in front as LCR and still be very impressed. They are honestly probably overkill for surrounds, but now that I have them, I have no regrets whatsoever. The volt 6s stand no chance....

  6. What a bargain! review by Rich F on 8/2/2019

I've been wanting to get something to replace my old speakers and also some that would fit nicely into the current temporary location that they will be in until I build out something in my basement for them to go and also something that is in the budget range I want to be in for now. Through various GTGs in my area, I've listened to a lot of DIYSG speakers as a few guys love to build them and swap up to bigger and better stuff. Recently we all saw the HT line pop up and it looked good on paper, luckily someone built a pair right before a GTG and I was able to hear them and I was sold. We compared them to the HTM line and they are so very close that for me the extra cost wasn't justified.

These HT-10s are crisp, clean and can get loud on my receiver! They pair great with the Volt-6s I have for the surround channel right now. You won't be disappointed in how they sound.
