Continuing a Legendary Woofer:  As we all know from the website, DIY Cable-Exodus sadly closed it's doors. The 7" Anarchy woofer that Kevin designed is an excellent woofer or midwoofer with it's massive 25mm peak-peak xmax.  I'm happy to say that Kevin agreed to let me keep this little beast in production from the same manufacturer, same specs, and using the same materials as before.  Kevin helped set up all the ordering to make sure everything was identical. Some people have asked why they aren't $93 like they used to be.  There was a large group buy preorder set up to continue the production and I told everyone involved that I would keep them under $70 for as long as I could.

Minimum order is two.  Limit is 4 right now.

Product Highlights:

  • Class leading linear excursion with 12.5mm X-max.
  • Works well in ported or sealed enclosures.
  • Great bass and midrange response allows for true full range 2 way designs.
  • Also works very well as the woofer in a 3 way design.

Woofer Videos:  When the Anarchy woofers were first introduced Kevin made two videos.  The first was an introduction video, the second video is Kevin powering the prototypes while giving a bit of information about them.

I'm a little biased but at the price, Erich is selling these I think they are the best bargain going. The Klippel measurements are still available online. The cone break-up is very easy to control for a 2-way design.

Bought two of these and built two Insubnia tapped horns. Driving them with a Crown 1002 XLS. Used for two channel music. They fill in the bottom end where my La Scala rolls off. A most excellent product.

It's awesome that Erich went to the trouble of continuing to make these available. I just finished up construction on a couple of Insubnia 25hz tapped horns designed by lilmike using these and they're awesome! Really fun project and amazing to get bass this deep and dynamic from these little woofers.

In regards to my buying experience here, these came very well packaged and arrived quickly after ordering. It was a pleasure to deal with Erich and I will definitely buy from him again.

After searching through forums and websites I found this little monster. I fed a pair of them 250W RMS each from a bridged 4-channel class-d amp in my car and people guessed I had a 12" sub in the trunk. They go lower than any sub woofer I have heard strong down to below human range of hearing and the mid range is incredibly clear too. only $66??? Best Value ever.

Bought one to build the Exodus Anarchy 6.5" 25hz tapped horn. This thing is amazing. I am already in the process of building another. I am power the sub with a 125watt plate amp.

The tapped horn out performs the following subs I currently have on hand. Polk PSW125, Polk PSW12 nad JBL TSXPS12.

I purchased 2 of these 4 ohm woofers for my 99 Saab 93 Convertible and i am astonished at the quality and output of these speakers. I am powering them with a Polk Pa D4000.4 which puts out 125 watts rms x 4 @ 4ohms. Since they are in large sealed door enclosures i am only supplying them with about 80 watt per speaker and they are moving air like you wouldn't believe. My original intention was to add an additional 2 anarchy 4ohm woofers in the rear although im scared it will pull away from the immaculate front soundstage these woofers are currently helping to create. They pull the bass from my subwoofer to the front of the car and blend all the frequencies together into what can only be described as a audio masterpiece full of robust lows and crisp punch high notes. definitely the piece that ties the entire system together. I would recommend these to any audiophile weather your on a budget or the next bill gates. You will not be disappointed!
(also keep in mind these speakers are capable of producing a wide variety of different sounds depending on the environment they are placed in. this means you may have to tune your enclosure until you are happy with the results. Also the break in period for me was roughly 14 hours of play time at moderately low volume then the speakers really began to come alive.)

I will be putting up some recommended enclosure sizes and tuning frequencies soon.

Frequently Asked Questions:

* Can I use this as a subwoofer?  Answer:  People have used these as small subwoofers for 2.1 music systems.  They aren't really recommended as home theater type subwoofers that need to reproduce bass down in the low 20hz range or less.

* Can I use this as an IB subwoofer in my car?  Answer:  No, they really weren't designed to play 35hz and down in an infinite baffle set up.  I have seen this done before, but it's not really recommended.

* How much power can these take?  Answer:  Power handling depends on the enclosure it's installed in and the frequencies the woofer is being fed.
